About this objectCassandra Annie Walker was one of the most talented artists at the company, with her designs often featuring highly finished illustrations and patterns. This is an early work, made just three years into the company’s history, that shows the subtle daring of her craft. Much of the piece is left blank, free from ornate design. Whilst the top of the figure itself reaches into the uppermost bracket of the piece, blocking out some of the pattern. The vertical floral designs also show the early influence of Art Nouveau on her practice.
