Albert Taylor received his formal training at the Liverpool School of Art, studying under the distinguished printmaker Geoffrey Heath Wedgwood. He later continued his artistic development privately with Charles Herbert Clark, refining his skills and deepening his interest in the graphic arts. Taylor’s practice centred on etchings, with a particular focus on landscapes and architectural subjects.

He began producing etchings in 1945, approaching the medium with remarkable discipline and care. Each stage of his experimentation was meticulously recorded in an inventory book, now preserved in the Williamson Art Gallery’s collection.
