About this objectFollowing a long career as a painter, draughtsman and teacher, Nicholas Horsfield started making etchings at a press in Sandon Studios at the Bluecoat Chambers in the 1970s. These works share a strong affinity with his drawings, with a chaotic, and sometimes abstract sketched style of linework. Many of his etchings from this time were self-portraits, but he instead decided to depict the author George Orwell in this work.
