About this objectAlthough unsigned, this painting has been attributed to the artist Philip Wilson Steer, who was born in Birkenhead in 1860. Steer looked to France for much of his early career, adopting an impressionistic style and also a voyeuristic approach to the female nude in naturalistic domestic settings.
The painting features another work, 'Holton Farm, 1890' on its reverse.
