About this objectthe face of the measure is plated brass and marked with 2 scales going from 0-180 in both directions. it is also marked out with the points of the compass. in the centre of the face is an enamelled screw adjust which can be unscrewed so that one of the two fingers may be moved around, the other finger is set at true north. around the face is a rectangular frame with sighting wires and spirit level. all of the upper area of the measure is attached to a heavy weight which helps to keep the face horizontal when used in conjunction with the multi angle joint on the mounting. the mounting supplied is too small.
