About this objectA woodcut very much in the tradition of African tribal wood carving. This print was made by cutting the image from the plank rather than the end-grain of the timber. The ink was rolled onto the surface and transferred by press or simply rubbing the back of the paper. This transfers the colour and the subtlety of the grain through onto the print. The subject matter is drawn from the myths and legend of tribal law.
