About this objectStanley Reed was Liverpool artist mostly known for his portraits of patrons across Merseyside. He studied at the Liverpool School of Art between 1924 and 1932, earning numerous scholarships during his time there due to his great skill with pencil and brush.
A drawing of a dog, this is a rare example of him depicting animals in his work, but his talent for detail can be found in the intricately drawn hairs of the spaniel, as well as an inquisitive stare that the dog has for the viewer (or the artist).
