To accompany the display of watercolours by JMW Turner, we welcome watercolour artist Janine Pinion to work live in the gallery for a day.
Janine has lived in Wirral for 28 years and takes inspiration from the coastal landscape and sky. She won the Williamson Open Purchase Prize in 2018 and has specialised in watercolour for the past decade.
Her technique is based on natural processes and produces effects of light that echo artists such as Turner. She challenges perceptions that watercolour is a difficult, secondary choice of medium and invites you to witness its magic.
Drop in anytime to watch Janine work and ask questions about her practice.
