About this objectA rare piece in the Williamson collection, this work was decorated by Harold Rathbone, the founder of the company. Rathbone usually took on a managerial role at the company and didn't often make or decorate pieces himself.
The piece was created in 1894, the same year as the founding of the company, and bears in an inscription at its centre: "Peace on Earth and Good Will Towards Men".
