Roger Lancelyn Green: an exhibition

About This Project

To coincide with the weekend of celebrations of Roger Lancelyn Green, the Williamson presents an exhibition exploring his books and their inspirations.

Gallery Six will feature a selection of Lancelyn Green’s beautifully illustrated books and offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about the man and his life.

In the grounds of Poulton Hall – Lancelyn Green’s Wirral home – sits a sculpture trail celebrating the legends of his books.  Two of the sculptors who contributed to this trail, Sue Sharples and Judith Railton, will be exhibiting maquettes of their sculptures and displaying the process of historical and mythological research which inspired their work.

There will also be guides to the local locations which informed Lancelyn Green’s understanding of Norse culture in Wirral.

The exhibition will be open from Wednesday 20th March in Gallery 6 and remain open after the weekend of celebrations.  Details of the celebratory events on 23rd and 24th March can be found here.
