Join local historian Elizabeth Davey to find out more about the history behind the Made of Iron series.
Find out more about the history behind our Six Vessels exhibition – part of 2019 Wirral Borough of Culture – in this talk by local historian Elizabeth Davey.
Davey has been involved with Six Vessels from the start. She has been a visitor to the Williamson since she first brought her children to put coins in the Polyphon and admire the ship models. A passionate advocate of Wirral’s culture and heritage, she has been heartened to witness the increasing contribution made to both by the Williamson and Priory and the almost exponential growth of activities based in the two centres. Once retired, Elizabeth found time to write Birkenhead, a History, now in its second edition, and she continues to give talks on a wide range of heritage themes.
The talk will take place on Saturday 22nd June, 11am-12:30pm, and is free.
