Birkenhead Summer Arts Exhibition

About This Project

The exhibition of work created by young people during the Birkenhead Summer Arts Workshops 2019

This year’s workshops drew inspiration from Wirral’s wonderful landscape with ‘The Great Outdoors’ and paid tribute to the adventures and aspirations of past, present and future generations with workshops on the theme of ‘Reach For The Stars’ in the Pyramids Shopping Centre.

Outreach workshops took place outside in the open spaces and gardens of Beaconsfield Community Centre where a boat was painted with images of the Wirral, and at Bidston Rise Community House. The outdoors came indoors at the Williamson with creating miniature gardens, trees, birds and all manner of creatures large and small. Over 300 people of all ages participated in this year’s summer art programme.

The exhibition runs from Sunday 15th September until Sunday 13th October and like all exhibitions at the Williamson is free. We are open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.

Summer Art 2019 was supported by Wirral Borough of Culture, Williamson and Priory Friends, Wirral Methodist Housing Association, The Pyramids Shopping Centre, the Stronger Communities Initiative Assembly, the Wirral Together Fund (rock Ferry) and the Neo Community.
