• Making our Mark

About the Artist/Exhibition

August sees the return of the highly popular Summer Art Workshops for young people working with professional artists at the Williamson Art Gallery and this year at other venues in Birkenhead with the theme – Making Our Mark.

Young people aged 8 -15, who love making and creating, can sign up for blocks of 3 morning art workshops with professional artists at the Williamson in August. The workshops which will be exploring the theme of MAKING OUR MARK using a wide range of different mediums including paint, clay, print media and construction. The the three day blocks (Wednesday to Friday) start on Wednesdays the 1st, 8th and 15th of August from 10.15am until 12.30pm. Places are limited and it is not possible to sign up for all three blocks. The aim is to reach as many young people as possible and make the opportunity available to all. The classes are free and presented by the Williamson and Priory Friends and Wirral Methodist Housing who have successfully supported the summer art programme for many years. The sessions are co-ordinated by Cathy Warren who can be contacted for more details on 07791 966083 and booking can be made by emailing williamsonandprioryfriends@gmail.com.

Parents don’t have to remain with their children but are encouraged, if they have younger children to use The Williamson Cafe with excellent provision for children with high chairs and a play area for young ones as well as the garden space – The Green Gallery. We are hoping to have some related colouring in sheets to keep them amused.
