Alongside our exhibitions and events programme, the Williamson is proud to partner with organisations, websites and venues that each make their own valuable contribution to Wirral’s cultural life.

Birkenhead Priory

The oldest standing building on Merseyside, Birkenhead Priory encapsulates so much of the town’s history within a small, enclosed site. Founded in 1150, the monks of this Benedictine monastery looked after travellers for nearly 400 years and supervised the first regulated ‘Ferry ‘cross the Mersey’.

HMS Conway

The Friends of HMS Conway is dedicated to preserving the memory of the HMS Conway “school ship”, those Conways who gave their lives in the two world wars and to the nine captain superintendents and a ‘headmaster superintendent’ who gave so many so much. The ship was our wooden mother, they were our stern father.
