About the Artist/Exhibition

The Wirral Open Studio Tour is an annual event in which artists invite the public to visit their workshops and display spaces. It’s an excellent opportunity to talk first-hand to the artists and to view their work.

The Williamson Art Gallery is yet again playing host to artists who will set up studio in the gallery from the Wednesday before the weekend of the Wirral wide studio tour. This year we will be joined by a record number of 7 artists, some new and some returning.

The Williamson will see the return of photographer George Evans, painter and muralist Joseph Venning, David Jones who works in paint and cardboard to create 3d models of boats and houses as well as comic strips of Formula 1, Wirral newcomer, Zoe Pearson who paints landscapes, Lisa Waldman of LW Silver who exhibits her jewellery regularly in the gallery with the Oxton Artists, Liwei Chen with her traditional chinese painting and finally our very own press officer, former Oxton Artist Alison Bailey Smith with her recycled wirework and rag rugs doing her creative thing.

The artists will be setting up on Wednesday before the tour and will be making themselves at home throughout the exhibitions and collections from Wednesday to Sunday…so a great way to see some of the tour before the weekend. We have plenty of brochures for you to pick up at the gallery but they can be also downloaded from the WOST website.
