About the Artist/Exhibition
Books, Banter and Booze. Literature and refreshments…what is not to like? Join us for our monthly informal and fun evening at the Williamson Art Gallery.
he theme for our fourth “book club’ that is not a “Book Club”, is BOOKS I HAVE HATED.
Our event is more like a cross between “A Good Read” and “Open Book” from Radio Four than a conventional book club where everyone reads the same book, offering an opportunity to sit down with other avid readers and talk about literature on a topic, not one book in particular. The discussion is facilitated but not restricted and tangents are welcome. We are experimenting with developing the two Thursday evenings in the month when we already have a group using the gallery as a meeting venue.
Hot and cold food is available, hot drinks, home-made mince pie with a glass of mulled wine for £5, from 6pm until 7pm from The Williamson Cafe and with talking and sharing planned to start from 7pm with last orders being taken at 8.30pm..
Doors will open from 6pm. Please note the cafe takes cash only. Oxton Books, our independent bookshop will be open throughout the evening.
As the 7th of December is the first Thursday of the month, we will have our regular life drawing class plus the meeting of the Western Front Association so please be considerate of our neighbours when parking (our car park can get filled quickly), alternatively carpool with friends, use public transport or walk if you are able.
