In collaboration with Curious Minds, the Williamson Art Gallery offer the Arts Award programme for young people with our learning officer, Kathy Heywood.

Start your arts adventure with the team at the Williamson Art Gallery, where the building and its’ collections act as a catalyst for schools and young people’s groups who wish to begin their arts Award journey.

Arts Award:Discover

This is an introductory award designed for ages five – twenty five. The gallery provides the opportunity to explore the permanent collection and provide an introduction to the 3 areas of the award

Discover, Find Out and Share.

The gallery provides a PDF of the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum Discovery Log Book for participants to record their ideas and record future and additional evidence.

Arts Award Explore:

This is the second award designed for ages 7 – 25. The Explore offer at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum acts as a creative stimulus and venue for schools and young peoples’ groups who wish to  take part in arts based activity and develop their Arts Award journey.

The gallery provides the opportunity to explore the permanent collection and meet our artist in residence. The workshop gives an introduction to the 4 areas of the award

Take Part, Explore, Create and Share.

The gallery provides a PDF of the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum Explore Log Book for participants to record their ideas and record future and additional evidence.

The Explore Award can be supported by a day or ½ day at the Gallery with the artist in residence. The workshops can be delivered as a half day or whole days and will be charged at a standard daily rate.

  • 21 WAG Summer School – Methodist Housing project.
  • 60 Bleak Hill Primary St Helens ( year one)
  • 2 Wirral Hospital School- work experience students

Total = 248 young people
