Birkenhead Priory

Birkenhead Priory – The oldest standing building on Merseyside, Birkenhead Priory encapsulates so much of the town’s history within a small, enclosed site.

Founded in 1150, the monks of this Benedictine monastery looked after travellers for nearly 400 years and supervised the first regulated ‘Ferry ‘cross the Mersey’.

WIRRAL U3A (University of the Third Age)

The U3A meet at the Williamson on alternate Mondays in the morning.

A friendly group of people who are no longer in full time employment and wish to carry on learning and being active. At the U3A meetings over a cup of tea or coffee they listen to a variety of interesting and informative speakers. Their activities do not end there as they have lots of interest groups and two walking groups.
